About Our Nuseries

Graduate Leaders

Here at the Honeytree we believe in providing the very best in Childcare which is why we employ highly qualified Graduate Leaders who have either achieved Qualified Teacher Status or Early Years Professional Status.

We are so committed to this that their role in each of our settings is now to oversee the whole of the children's learning across each age group, so as to provide a stimulating and unique learning environment.

The role as the Graduate Leader also means that each Room Leader reports to them to plan each topic and assessments of the children.

The Graduate Leader will work closely with each member of staff with regards to the overall learning environment on a day to day basis and will also identify their ongoing training needs, and will work closely with the Manager on a day to day basis.

Creating Foundations For Life

The Honeytree Day Nursery is a small privately owned group of nurseries based here in the South West of England.

We opened our first setting in 1988 with the aim of providing a unique high quality and affordable childcare service to parents.

We aim to do this by providing settings that are light, spacious and well-resourced with exceptional outdoor areas that further extend your child's ability to learn in a safe and stimulating environment that also feels homely. We also aim to make each setting a happy environment that provides carefully selected and experienced staff that are there to be welcoming and to care for the individual needs of each child and to reassure parents of their child's progress.

We will endeavour to keep all our staff up-to date with their training needs either by our own in house training consultants who have links with all the local colleges, or external courses. This benefits each child in our care as we will also be providing the most up to date learning.

Each Child Is Special

These magical early years at the Honeytree are filled with fun and excitement for the children as we nurture their natural curiosity, enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.

At each of our settings the routines are flexible to accommodate each child's needs. Very recently we have adopted a new ethos that says "It's not the weather that is wrong, it's the clothing" therefore we will be able to extend other opportunities for our children to be in our newly developed outside classrooms that provide shade on sunny days. On wet days children will be encouraged to dress in appropriate clothing and wellington boots, so as not to miss learning opportunities no matter what the weather.

Partnerships With Our Parents & Carers

Partnerships between us are of the upmost importance for the benefit of each child's welfare.

When a child joins us we like to gather as much information about them so that we can make their time at Honeytree a safe and happy time. We have an open door policy to welcome parents and carers to spend time with their child to speak freely to their Key Person or the Manager about any issues.

When a child joins us at the Honeytree we will ask the parent/carer to fill out a registration form this is held on file and stored in a locked cabinet under data protection requirements.

From these details we will be able to care for that child's individual needs, each child attending our setting has their own individual file which goes with them throughout their time at the Honeytree as a record of their achievements. This is a very useful resource for the reception class teacher when they reach School age but also serves to be a memorable life time memento.

Each Child joining is assigned a Key Person who will be their main carer and will be there to feedback regular communication and progress about your child's achievements. Throughout the year we also hold parent evenings for parents/carer to come in and have the opportunity to speak to staff about their child's developments and progress in a relaxed environment.

Each staff member is carefully selected to provide the very best and up-to date knowledge of childcare.

All our staff go through a rigorous vetting procedure, part of which is putting them through the Disclosure and Barring Service. We also want them to be committed to on-going training by means of external courses or our own in house trainers.

All Key Persons will have a recognised Childcare/Early Years Qualification NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or CACHE Diploma. We also support Nursery Apprentices and training towards their NVQ Level 3.

Domestic Staff

At the Honeytree we employ staff to carry out all the domestic duties within our Nursery Settings.

To have this uniqueness allows our highly trained Early Years Practitioners to be 100% dedicated and committed to the Care and Education of the children.

Our Managers are generally promoted from within The Honeytree to maintain the knowledge and understanding of our own personal values.

Each Manager is a responsible person with many years' experience and a dedication to providing the very best in childcare.
