Meet the Team

Jay Sparkle, Lead Manager

My name is Jay, My journey started at The Honeytree in January 2013.

I started as the Preschool Room Manager at our Weston site. I previously worked in nurseries in Wales. In January 2014 I was promoted to Deputy Manager and in October 2015, I took over as Manager at our Weston nursery.

In 2017 my Managing Director, Mr Weston, promoted me to Lead Manager. My role is to visit each of the settings and support the teams in enhancing their practice. I work closely with the managers and also our Head Office to ensure the smooth running of our settings.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Early Years Education and have also completed my Foundation Degree in Early Years. I hold a basic food hygiene certificate and a paediatric 1st aid certificate. In addition to these I hold an Advanced Safeguarding Certificate. My experiences within settings include behaviour management and also Inclusion and SEND coordinator.

Tessa Davies, Joint Manager & Graduate Leader (0-3)

Since completing my degree I have been working in both schools and nurseries.

I spent 2 years in New Zealand where I worked in a Montessori Nursery. Before coming to The Honeytree I worked as a nanny.

I love to travel and have had the fortune of visiting many countries whilst travelling. In my spare time I like to watch and try my hand at surfing also I am currently learning to play the drums.

Kate Smart, Joint Deputy Manager

I have experience of working with all ages and have worked in all rooms across the nursery.

I have progressed from Nursery Nurse to room manager and am now Joint Deputy Manager. I have completed my foundation degree in Early Years.

I currently work 4 days a week and in my spare time I like to go shopping, to the cinema and going on day trips. I love travelling and holidays abroad with my family and friends. My favorite place is Marmaris in Turkey. I have very close family unit and love to spend time with them. I enjoy spending time with my friends.

Ellie Cochrane, Joint Deputy Manager & Graduate Leader (3-5's)

Since completing my degree in 2013, I have worked in nurseries with all age groups of children. I started at The Honeytree in September 2017.

I have always been very passionate about working alongside children and supporting their learning and development within the early years of their lives. Whilst working as a nursery practitioner, I chose to continue my education and completed my Early Years Initial Teacher Training. I have experience of working within all age groups within the EYFS as well as working closely with children with SEND.

In my spare time I enjoy going for long walks with my partner & spending time with my family and friends.

Sonia Vidal Forte, Graduate Leader (3-5's)

I started at the Honeytree in March 2017.

I am working in the preschool as graduate leader, Children have a strong desire to learn, my job is to empower this desire and extend children's thinking.


My qualifications and training include:

  • Qualified Early Years Teacher
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Basic Food Safety

Hiba Yusuuf, Room Manager

I have worked at the nursery for over a year. I have worked in pre-school room as an apprentice and when I qualified became room manager in the 2-3’s room, Little Bees.

I am currently studying Health and Social Sciences at Cardiff University.

I enjoy reading books and watching Anime as well as drawing Manga characters.

My qualifications and training include:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children's Learning and Development

Melanie Michael, Early Years Practitioner

I have been working for Honeytree since 1997.

I have experience of working with all ages, but currently I am a key person in Little Bees (2-3’s).

I enjoy socialising with my family and friends, shopping and visiting new places.

My qualifications and training include:

  • NVQ Level 3
  • Caring for Children 0-7 (City & Guilds)
  • Basic Food Safety
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Safeguarding Children


Rhianne Rogers, Early Years Practitioner

I completed my Level 3 Diploma at SGS College in June 2015 and joined Honeytree in October 2015.

I began working in the 2-3’s room and from August 2016 moved into 0-2’s which is a role I am enjoying.

In my spare time I enjoy walking my dog, shopping and spending time with my niece and nephew.

My qualifications and training include:

  • Level 3 CACHE Diploma in Childcare & Education(0 – 16)
  • Pediatric First Aid
  • Basic Food Hygiene
  • Learning Language and Loving I


Amy Sansom, Room Manager (0-2's)

I started at Honeytree in 2011 where I was training towards my NVQ3.

Since completing my level 3 I became a keyperson in the pre-school room and I am now the Room Manager in the Sunshine Room (babies). I left to have my daughter in 2015 and returned back to work in bringing Lilly with me. In my spare time I like to enjoy family time with my partner and children, taking them on lots of day trips and adventures.

Melisa Williams, Early Years Practitioner

I started working at the Honeytree in 2007.

I have experience of working with all age groups in the nursery. I have 3 children, all of whom have attended the Honeytree. I am currently a keyperson in the 3-5’s room. I enjoy messy play, dancing and singing with the children and love to see a smile on their faces.



My qualifications and training include:

Katy Gill, Early Years Practitioner

I’ve completed a 5 day work experience in a pre-school and joined Honeytree as an Early Years Practitioner in February 2016.

In my spare time I teach and train in Kickboxing. Also, I like exploring the world and spending time with family and friends.

Jade Burge, Apprentice

I have gone to many nurseries for work experience and worked with all ages.

In my free time I enjoy going to concert with my friends. I love textiles and drawing and occasionally reading books when I have spare time.

  • Working towards Level 3 Early Years Educator
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Basic Food Safety Awareness

Belle Mogg, Apprentice

I have worked at the Honeytree since November 2016.

I am currently an apprentice in the busy bees room 3-5’s where I am studying my NVQ3. I started my NVQ with Honeytree once leaving school. Childcare has always been my interest. I especially enjoy getting stuck in to creative activities with the children.
