Honeytree Fest at Portishead
On Saturday 7th July we held Honeytree Fest at our nursery in Portishead where we invited parents to visit our wonderful setting. We were lucky enough to have a hog roast donated to us which provided us with yummy pork rolls.
Each room had lots of exciting games and activities for the children including a children’s tombola which proved to be very popular. Outside we had a local singer, Billy who sang lots of different songs to entertain the parents and children whilst they were playing on the adult tombola. Lots of the parents and staff provided some yummy treats for the cake stall, there was hardly a crumb left by the end of the morning.
The highlight of the morning was our amazing raffle. We had lots of incredible prizes including family tickets to lots of local attractions. We managed to raise a total of £376.65 for Children’s Hospice South West. This is an amazing local charity who provide respite care, short breaks, palliative care, emergency care and end of life care to families across the south west. This charity holds a special place in so many local families, including my own. We had a presentation ceremony where we were able to present with the children the money that we had raised. Judy and myself are hoping to visit their setting Charlton Farm in Wraxall soon on one of their open days to show our continued support.
Thank you again to all the parents and family members who donated prizes, baked cakes, bought raffle tickets and attended on the day! Roll on Honeytree Fest 2019
