Our nursery is split into 4 rooms, with each room devoted to caring for a specific age range. We’ve designed our nursery so that children move between rooms when they are ready, not based on when their birthday is.
Here at Honeytree Weston our days are not rigidly structured but all rooms try to keep to a routine which the children can recognise and anticipate. A familiar routine helps to ensure that your child is happy and secure.
Butterflies – caring for 0-2’s
Butterflies provides a cosy, home-like space reflecting our natural ethos. The layout allows us to divide our children into key groups to offer a more personal experience.
We focus on the prime areas of learning and plan activities for each child on an individual basis. Through our key worker system, we get to know each child on a personal level ensuring that we mirror your baby’s routine at home from the texture of their food to their nap times. As your baby grows into a toddler we nurture and prepare them gradually for our Busy Bees room
Busy Bees – inspiring 2-3’s
The children in Busy Bees are encouraged to engage their imagination in their room which offers natural resources and focused areas such as the home corner to explore role play, construction area to develop mathematically, creative/messy play area to delve into arts and design and story corner to nurture a love for literacy. Our key workers focus on each child’s individual interests and allow freedom to play and explore which provides opportunities to explore the world around them and develop socially with their peers.
Ladybirds and Dragonflies – engaging 3-5’s
We have two preschool groups which allow us to offer both all year round and term time only places for 3-5-year olds. Here we are able to provide more structured activities and gradually prepare for a bright future at school whilst maintaining a balance of freedom and play opportunities. We provide rising stars sessions for our preschool children, in order to prepare them for school. These sessions encourage the children to participate in school activities and support their transition to big school.
To share with parents their child’s development we hold 3 parents evenings a year (1 per term). This gives us a chance to share achievements, concerns, offer support and share next steps with each parent and to see what we can implement both here at Honeytree but also at home.
Ladybirds – Term Time Only Preschool
This room has a dynamic environment which provides structured learning and opportunities of free play in order to prepare the children for school whilst reflecting our natural ethos.
Dragonflies – All Year-Round Preschool
This room offers a large space and encourages independence and learning with our natural resources with a focus on school readiness.
The holiday club is run within our term time only room throughout half terms and the summer holidays. Our holiday club takes children from 4 years old to 11 years old. The room offers a structed learning space and provides opportunities for children to engage in a natural environment. Local day trips, outings and activities are planned to ensure the children attending have the best time making memories.
